Another Lotto Prize Up For Grabs in Glasgow
07 Jun 2006
Once again National Lottery players in Glasgow are being urged to check their tickets as a fourth Lotto prize, this time worth £117,345, remains unclaimed in the area – meaning that in total, the mystery Glaswegian winners are missing out on an outstanding £1,960,667.
This latest ticket – which matched five numbers and the bonus ball in the Lotto draw on Saturday 13 May 2006 – was also bought in the Glasgow area. The mystery ticket-holder has until 5.30pm on 9 November 2006 to come forward with the winning ticket and make their claim. The winning numbers for the Lotto draw on Saturday 13 May 2006 were 3, 15, 21, 22, 36, 47, and the bonus ball was 22.
To jog Lotto players’ memories, on 13 May 2006, Gnarls Barkley was dominating the charts with Crazy – while Prime, starring Uma Thurman and Meryl Streep, had just opened at the cinema. Closer to home audiences at the Theatre Royal were enjoying a performance from Scottish Opera of Don Giovanni, while Glasgow University beat Edinburgh University in the annual boat race.
The second unclaimed prize in the Glasgow area dates from the Lotto draw on Saturday 4 March 2006, and is worth £110,935. The missing ticket-holder has until 31 August 2006 to come forward with their winning ticket and claim this prize. The winning Lotto numbers on 4 March 2006 were 1, 16, 22, 32, 33, 40, and the bonus ball was 48.
The third prize worth £65,720 dates from the Lotto draw on Saturday 18 March 2006. The winning Lotto numbers for that draw were 7, 10, 22, 24, 34, 44, and the bonus ball was 18. The lucky ticket-holder has until 5.30pm on 14 September 2006 to come forward and make their claim.
The fourth prize is an incredible £1,666,667 share of the £5 million Jackpot-Only Draw on Saturday 29 April 2006. Players who bought a ticket for the main Lotto draw on Saturday 29 April 2006 automatically had the same line(s) of numbers entered into the £5 million Jackpot-Only Draw. The winner now has until 5.30pm on 26 October 2006 to come forward with the winning ticket and make their claim. The winning numbers for the £5 million Jackpot-Only Draw on 29 April were 4, 10, 23, 36, 37 and 49.
If no-one comes forward with the winning tickets before the prize claim deadlines, then the prize money, plus all the interest generated, will go to the Good Causes – adding to the £18.5 billion already raised through sales of lottery tickets over the last 11 years.
A National Lottery spokesperson said: “We are very keen for the ticket-holders to come forward and claim these four big prizes in Glasgow. We’ve got the champagne on ice and now just need the calls to come in from those lucky players telling us they’ve got the winning tickets. We just hope we find them before it’s too late.
“The winners may live or work in the area where the tickets were bought, but could just as easily have been visiting friends or family, shopping or maybe even just passing through when they made their lucky purchase. That’s why we are appealing to all Lotto players in Glasgow to go and dig down the backs of sofas, empty draws, turn out the pockets of clothes they may have been wearing – check anywhere they think those tickets might be hiding”.
