Nearly 2,000 Lottery Millionaires

Last year 154 people were made millionaires by the National Lottery, that’s 10 more than the 144 millionaires created in the previous year. In total, since the National Lottery started in 1994 there have been more than 1,900 millionaires created, from annual sales of around £5 billion.
Last year £1.4 billion was raised for the Good Causes and Camelot, the lottery operator, are planning to launch a new game called Dream Number to raise money for the London 2012 Olympics. It is anticipated that by the time the games start, the lottery will have raised £1.5 billion to help fund the Olympics.
